Below are some frequently asked questions. Hopefully they will help you out if you are thinking of coming along to Ellon Parish Church.

    How do I find you?
    The parish church is located close to the centre of Ellon, opposite the War Memorial and tucked behind private housing. Across the road is the Kirk Centre, which incorporates the Church Halls, Coffee Shop, and Church Office.

    Where can I park?
    There is lots of on street parking and car parks around Ellon. There is, however, no private church car park. There are no parking charges at night or on a Sunday, so parking should not be a problem.

    What time should I arrive?
    If you are coming to one of the services the doors will be open at least 30 minutes before the start. You are free to come whenever you can, whether this is thirty minutes before or five minutes after it starts. The important thing is that you come and be welcome.

    What happens before the service?
    Before the service our welcome team will be on hand to help out with any guests or new members. They are always there to answer any questions, or help in any way, so make sure to speak to them, they will be delighted to speak to you.

    What happens after the service?
    After the service we continue our worship through fellowship, (basically we drink some great coffee or tea, eat home bakes, and have a chat). This is a great time of the week and it’s a chance to catch up with old or new friends, find out what’s going on in the community.

    Do I need to be a member?
    No. We are a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community. Everybody is welcome at Jesus table, and everybody is welcome in Ellon Parish Church. There is nothing that is reserved for members, everyone is encouraged to participate in whatever way they feel called to.

    What should I wear?
    We do not have a dress code. Some people dress up others wear jeans and a hoodie, no-matter what you are wearing you will be welcome.

    Can I come alone?
    Yes. We have lots of people who come alone, but if you want, you won’t stay alone for long as there is always somebody to talk to, or an activity to join in. Our activities are usually designed for everyone.

    Can I bring my kids?
    We are an all age community, so kids are absolutely welcome. We have a Crèche and a Sunday School. During the service kids (and parents if they wish) have the opportunity to go to Star Squad Sunday after the Kid’s Bible Story.

    Is there a charge?
    There is no charge to be a part of our community. We do have collections during the service, and various other ways for you to contribute either financially or of you time.

    What happens during the service?
    Our Sunday morning services last between 45 minutes and 1 hour 15 minutes. We have contemporary music, traditional hymns, a choir, a band, Bible readings, a relatable sermon, and prayer. Our service combines modern and traditional worship styles to offer a relatable and moving space for worship.

    Does everything happen on a Sunday?
    No. We have various activities and events happening throughout the week and year. You can find all of this information on our Calendar, Events, and News pages, or you can contact our Kirk Centre where much of our activities take place.

    How do I donate?
    We have a donation page that has all the information on different ways for you to contribute to our work and community.

    What is the purpose of Ellon Parish Church?
    We are a Christ centred community, with an inclusive and hospitable outlook, we want to come together to build this community and to worship God in the whatever way we can. Our mission statement is 'Meaningful Faith, Meaningful Community, Meaningful Witness,' We try to live out these values every day.
